SIPAS – an Erasmus + Capacity Building Project was launched by Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, Lativa in collaboration with colleagues from Portugal and India

A on-site and online kick – off meeting was initiated by Vidzeme University of Applied Science from January 20 to 24, 2025, to launch the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project “Advancing Sustainability and Technology in Tourism, Hospitality, and Services Studies through Strategic Industry Partnerships (SIPAS)”.The Four (4) Higher Education Consortium Institutes i.e., Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (VIS), Latvia, along with National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management (NITHM), India Pondicherry University ( PU), Pondicherry, India & Polytechnic Institute of Setubal, Portugal (IPS) had many brainstorming sessions on Project implementation, tasks sharing, activities, milestones & deliverables



The SIPAS Project is aimed at bringing the Four (4) Higher Education Institutes and five (5) associate partners together into one platform for its successful implantation in 2 years. The prime objective of SIPAS project is developing and implementing innovative study modules, staff training programs, ICT integration, and the establishment of laboratories at partner universities in India and to inculcate enhanced administration efficiency clubbed with global learning environment in the institutions involved.

The, participants were introduced to the higher education institutions represented in the project on the first day of the meeting, as well as the tourism study programs they intended offer. The Project team continues deliberations throughout the week through various meetings and reviews to plan the next steps, activities, collaborations, and engaging professional partners.
